Jr. High Head Coach, Philip Woods
Graduated in 2000 from Edmond North High School where he was a 4-time state qualifier
and an undefeated state champion his senior year at 215 pounds. He then attended
Northeastern State University where he played football for four years earning
2nd team ALL Lone Star Conference honors in 2002 and 1st team in 2003 and was a
part of the 2000 Lone Star Conference championship team. Woods was a graduate
assistant wrestling and football coach for one year (2004-05) at Norman North.
In 2005-06 Woods returned to Edmond North as the assistant Jr. High coach and a
varsity football coach. In 2007-08 Woods became the head junior high
wrestling coach. In 2008-09 he led the team to an undefeated dual season
and won the Perry Tournament for the first time in school history. He was
also named Jr. High Wrestling Coach of the Year. Also coaches football at North
High School and teaches Spanish at Sequoyah Middle School. Philip
is married to Julie and they have one son, Carter.
